QUEENSLAND AIR MUSEUM

Queensland Air Museum (QAM) is run entirely by volunteers, driven by the passion that is encompassed in the vision statement of “Preserving Australia’s Aviation Heritage”. Over 94 historically significant aircraft have been sourced, restored, rebuilt, maintained and displayed to the public by QAM volunteers for almost 45 years. To date, the museum is the largest and most diverse aviation museum in Australia, with a focus on Australian Aviation history through ongoing acquisitions and restoration of historically significant aircraft.

  2. They were also used by the RAAF as an advanced trainer throughout the war and for many years after with their retirement from service in 1958. The example in the Queensland Air Museum collection is A20-652 construction number 1104. It was built in July 1944 in the final production batch which had the designation of CA-16.

  3. The Queensland Air Museum obtained copies of the original plans of this significant aircraft and constructed a replica, which went on display at the museum in 2007.
