The aviator flight helmet, like the aircraft he or she flies, has come a long
way since the first powered flight over 100 years ago. Advances in helmet
use and function have been driven by changing safety requirements, aircraft
capability, technology and, at its base level, necessity.
The newest fighter, the F-35, has significant improvements like a new helmet which replaces old technology such as the Heads Up
Display (HUD), but adds expense and sensitivity. It seems the helmet which used to only protect the pilot, must now be protected by
the pilot! Air Armor Tech helps do just that in a light-weight, collapsible form.
