The School of Information Operations (SOIO) is proud to announce that it has recently achieved the milestone of delivering 100 courses to over 900 students. Since its launch in 2019, SOIO has been training the next generation of professionals working in the Department of Defence, Defence Industry and the wider Defence Organisation.
The CEO of SOIO, Glenn Murray, says: “To achieve 100 courses in such a short timeframe is evidence of our dedication and instructors experience. The positive feedback we receive from clients and students is testament to our success with delivering capability to Defence.”
Originally comprising just one Electronic Warfare (EW) short course derived from courseware developed by Leonardo Academy in Lincoln, UK, they now offer a total of six short courses and two long courses that cover multi-domain operations including EW, Cyber, Undersea Warfare (USW), Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), Space and Maritime Operations.
Now entering its fifth year, SOIO has grown in personnel and draws on the talents of 27 instructors with extensive defence operational experience and a permanent operations team. SOIO is a proud veteran employer and has expert instructors covering cross domain Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (ISREW), USW, Maritime Operations and UAS.
Students gain insights on various topics from the shadowy depths of the ocean to the expanse of space and multiple operational domains in between. In addition, SOIO draws upon knowledge from industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from cyber, space operations and EW fields to ensure students gain premium experience and expertise.
Since 2019, SOIO has developed a diverse set of operationally focused courses to complement traditional and emerging Defence Force operational concepts and has diversified geographically, with courses conducted in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Nowra and Perth. They are continually seeking opportunities to expand further in Australia and overseas.
