Lockheed Martin Australia renews National Youth Science Forum Partnership for a further two years

Lockheed Martin Australia has announced its ongoing commitment to the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) for a further two years. This renewal celebrates over seven years of the NYSF and Lockheed Martin Australia working together to help young Australians discover their STEM future.

The NYSF is an Australian not-for-profit charity focused on providing young people with opportunities to learn more about future study and career options if they continue to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) post-school.

As a major partner of the NYSF since 2014, Lockheed Martin Australia’s renewed partnership agreement will provide operational support for the NYSF and its 2022 and 2023 initiatives, including: NYSF Year 12 Program; NYSF Connect alumni program; and the NYSF Student Staff Leadership Program.

Lockheed Martin Australia Chief Executive Warren McDonald recognised the invaluable role that the NYSF plays in advancing STEM across Australia.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with the NYSF. Lockheed Martin Australia acknowledges the importance of inspiring the next generation to pursue STEM careers by showing today’s students how exciting and rewarding these jobs can be,” he said.

“Advancing STEM is a critical focus area. Our future success depends on a constant supply of highly trained capable talent for the nation. Together with the NYSF we are committed to growing the future STEM workforce here in Australia.”

NYSF CEO, Dr Melanie Bagg, welcomed Lockheed Martin Australia’s renewed partnership commitment and said the NYSF was looking forward to the next chapter of working together to deliver Australia’s future STEM workforce.

“Lockheed Martin Australia has demonstrated their commitment to encouraging STEM study and career choices through a range of outreach and training initiatives. With this renewed sponsorship of the NYSF, Lockheed Martin Australia has committed close to a decade of support and will have helped over 5000 young people find their STEM study path, understand the range of exciting jobs and plan a career they are passionate about,” Dr Bagg said.

“Lockheed Martin Australia understands our vision and shares our passion for educating and inspiring a diverse range of young people to be tomorrow’s scientists, engineers and mathematicians. Support from companies such as Lockheed Martin Australia enables the NYSF to show students real-world STEM jobs and the diverse industry applications of STEM.”
